Lucky and Jedi's New Life

Two boys and how they found their new home.

A Terrible Dog Park Experience

Today, the family and I went to the dog park. My mommies haven’t been bringing me to the dog park lately because they have been busy and because they would much rather walk us then go to the dog park. When we got there, Jedi was very excited because he hadn’t been in a while. When Jedi first got into the park he ran straight to the closest dog, a collie. The collie didn’t like Jedi barking at him so he nipped at him. I went up to him and told him to leave my brother alone. Then we all went off on our own and had fun. I’ve been taking care of our new dog who is deaf, named Rain. Mom has made it my responsibility that if they need Rain, I go to her and let her know that mommies need her.
After a while, I left Rain to go have some fun by myself. I began to run around and I passed the collie again. The collie came after me and bit me! I instantly started crying for my mommie Jackie because she’s the mom I always go to. She came running up to me and made me sit down. She looked at my side where it hurt and took a big breath. Mommie Val came up and mommie Jackie told her that she could see my muscle on my side. I was staying calm and strong. After all, this wasn’t anywhere near as painful as when I lost my leg.

Mommies went and talked to the daddie of the collie. They talked for a few minutes and then we went home. Mommies dropped off the other dogs and then they put me back in the car. When we stopped at the next place, we were at a place I have only been to a few times: the vet’s. I liked all the new smells and forgot all about my pain. Mommies even met an old friend that they used to foster with!
When they took me to the back room I began to whine. I remembered that the last time I was there I got a shot and I was sick. Mommies let me know that it was ok so I laid down and waited. The vet came in, took one look and took me to the back room without my mommies.
In the back room, they held me down and shaved my owie. Then the vet came up and put staples in it! It hurt and I didn’t like it, but it was done fast. She put 5 staples in me! When they were done, I ran back to my mommies and made sure to stay away from them because I didn’t want anymore pain.

When we got back home, my brother and sisters had to sniff me and make sure that I was ok. I sat down and started licking my owie. Mommies told me to stop but it didn’t feel good so I wanted to lick it. Mom made me put my tripawd shirt on so that I couldn’t lick it anymore.
It’s been a couple hours and I’m feeling a little bit better. I’m exhausted from the whole ordeal, but I’m not in as much pain.
The vet said that I can have my staples removed in a week, and mommie Jackie is going to take them out because she is studying to be a vet technician and she knows how to do that. Momma told me that it won’t hurt like last time when the staple was ingrown. I will keep all of you posted on how I do!

An Update and Lucky’s Genius Car Idea

Pshew! Sorry guys that it’s been such a long time. Mommies have been so busy and so have we. Momma J started schooling to become a veterinary technician. She keeps telling me how I’m going to come into the class and show off my three legs to all the other students! Momma V has been keeping up with her work as a deli manager. But while they’re busy, we have had the pleasure of staying with our roommate Les. She loves us so much and plays with us and pets us all the time! She begs our mommies to let us sleep with her, and while we ask too, mommies never say yes.
Jedi has been growing and getting older. Mommies are so proud of him and how much he has improved since they first brought him home. He keeps getting stronger like me every day. I make sure to play really rough with him so that he gets strong too. When he first came home, he was small like the cats, but now he’s big like Maggie and growing even bigger! I hope he’s as big as me so that we can play equally, but mommies say that he won’t.
Jedi has started coming to the dog park with the family now too. He follows me around the dog park and does what I do. I always bark at the big dogs, so Jedi does too. I run as fast as I can, so Jedi does too. I wrestle with other dogs, so Jedi does too. Sometimes Jedi plays so much that he’s too tired to walk all the way back to the car while I always have even more energy.
Mommies recently bought a shell for their truck and have started having us dogs stay in the back when we’re on our way to visit places. It so much fun because we can look out different windows or we can lay on the doggie bed. Jedi and I were having trouble balancing though. Jedi chose not to fight it and just lays down in the doggie bed when we get in the car, but I want to be looking out the window. After a week of continually trying and falling whenever mom stopped, I finally figured out how to balance and look out the window without falling when mom stopped! What I do is I stand and lean on the back of the truck bed and look out of the windows. When I feel mom starting to stop, I sit or lay down to make sure that I don’t fall.
Well, that’s all for our update. I’ve got to get going. I’m sure there’s a cat that needs chasing or a dog that needs wrestling.

Jedi Meets Yoda

At first, you’re probably all thinking “whose Yoda?” or you might be thinking of the late Tripawds Yoda. Well, my dearest readers, Yoda is only the most important person in all of the Star Wars trilogy if I might say so myself. Yoda is filled with advise worded in not so easy to understand sentences. But it is these sentences that makes Luke Skywalker the man/jedi that he was.
Being a Stars Wars fan, I can’t help but own a pair of…Yoda slippers. *gasp*
After leaving them in storage for a while, I decided to take them out and let Jedi meet his master. Master Yoda.
Here is what happened:

Jedi’s First Week

As the week has gone on, I have had the opportunity to hang out with my new brother Jedi. He’s a lot like me, only he’s a baby and I have to take extra special care of him. Jedi looks up to me and as his big brother, I make sure he knows how to be a good dog. I play with him, eat side by side with him, and keep an eye out on him. Mommies made him sit and took off some of the hair on his face like they do with me sometimes. He likes it more then I do. He sure is hyper though, but it’s a good thing he naps frequently because he WEARS ME OUT! Pshew! I’m so glad my mommies brought Jedi home for me and Maggie, it truly is the bestest gift they could have ever given me!

Hi guys! I can’t stay long because I’m so busy. My new mommies have been great to me. They love me and hug me and kiss me, but not as much as my last home who never even let me walk. They let me learn a lot. Their kitties are mean and I want to play with them but they don’t want to. I’m not sure why. Lucky, my new brother is my favorite. He is nice to me and plays with me a lot! Maggie get mad and tells me to stop when I get too excited. I don’t like that. I wish she would just play with me more. Ok, I gotta go, the cat just ran away!
